I create to remember.

Hey! I’m Lexis Krieg, the artist behind Lexisworks Art
a Colorado-based watercolor + mixed media artist known for joyful, uplifting designs that blend color, pattern + meaning. My art explores creativity as self-care, helping others reconnect with their Creative Self through simple, expressive practices.

Creating art is how I remember the joy + freedom that comes when I connect with my Creative Self.

As a highly sensitive person in an overstimulating world,
making art has always been a way for me to create meaning out of my experiences + to process my feelings.

Simple line drawings of starfish, a cluster of small X's, and a diamond shape.

When I create, I remember who I am.

My purpose is to create joy in the world.

I create to fulfill my purpose.

I didn’t always paint with watercolor. The materials have transformed over the years, but the layering process has remained the same.

I offer my guidance + creative gift through artwork + classes designed to help you discover your own color + joy.

Layers are ever present in my art, creating depth by using combinations of text + image, color + pattern—the things that delight my eyes.

No matter the medium—acrylic, watercolor, collage, even murals—my signature style gives off happy vibes.

My background in graphic design shapes the way I see + create.

Abstract star and leaf shapes with small X marks and a diamond shape outline.

Earning my degree in Graphic Design gave me a foundation in visual storytelling. Years of professional design work shaped how I see composition, pattern + rhythm—skills that now flow naturally into my paintings.

As an artist-led designer and founder of Most Beautiful Design, I bring that same eye for harmony + emotion into branding.

Whether I’m creating a watercolor piece or a brand identity, my work is always about connection—using color, texture + meaning to make people feel.

For a decade, I created collage + acrylic art.

Original pieces + handmade prints that shared my love of color and storytelling.

By 2019,
I had fallen in love with watercolor—its flow, unpredictability + magic became the foundation of my creative expression as a modern watercolor artist.

Simple line drawings of two starfish, a diamond shape, and small X marks.

Pregnant + painting at the kitchen counter, I traded my studio time for convenience + acrylic paint for watercolors.

And almost over night, I gave up creating with acrylic paint.

When I discovered that creating in the small moments made me feel more grounded, calm + present—I was hooked.

My watercolor + doodling practice allows me to seamlessly combine color + pattern + text.

Plus, I’m no longer cycling through the process, restricted to my studio, or burdened by the clean up of acrylic paint.

What does this mean for you?

My simplified, layered watercolor process allows me to share my knowledge of color, composition + harmony, so that you feel more cool, calm + collected when creating.

My art is more than sunshine on a rainy day.

I paint murals to create joy.

For a decade, I have helped business owners, photographers + parents bring their space to life with one-of-a-kind murals.

From vinyl decals + painted windows for storefronts to murals + hand-drawn backdrops, I’ve designed, painted + drawn murals for a variety of spaces.
